Delta Chi - Florida State University

We are the Florida State University Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity.

The Delta Chi Fraternity was founded at Cornell University on October 13, 1890 on the values of Friendship, Character, Justice, and Education. Having started out as a former law fraternity, our fraternity holds the law very close to our heart and we have the utmost respect for it.

Our chapter was originally chartered on Florida State's campus on  December 2nd, 1961. During our time on the campus, we won three consecutive homecoming championships, multiple all campus fraternity intramural awards, and boasted one of the most beautiful houses on College Ave.

In the summer of 1979, with the help of our alumni, a house was procured at 415 West College Avenue. This would be the new Delta Chi house. The new house, a three-story colonial style mansion, was by far the most beautiful fraternity house on campus. At this time the members of our ranks were extremely influential on our campus. Our ranks including six student senators, Including the President of the student senate, the president of Omicron Delta Kappa, the treasurer of the Garnet and Gold key, the President and Vice President of Pi Sigma Alpha (political science honor society) as well as other campus activity representatives.

During the fall of 1981, the brothers moved to a new fraternity house at 402 West College Avenue. This new house brought 24 new men to join the fraternity making our total in 1981 be 45 members (much higher than the average number of fraternity men on campus at the time)

Fast forward to the present and after a brief hiatus, the Chapter returned to campus during the Fall of 2009. Delta Chi came back to Florida State University with a founding father class of only 18 members. These 18 members worked hard that fall and were able to rush an additional 8 members to join their ranks the following spring.

Knowing that they would be at a disadvantage without housing, the brothers rented a small townhouse off Bellevue Ave as a temporary housing solution. However, we are pleased to say that in the Fall of 2013, we have moved into Heritage Grove and secured a long term residence at 1904 Heritage Grove Cir. We have one of the most updated and well kept houses in the residence and we are extremely grateful for the countless sacrifices brothers and alumni combined have made to help assure our future success.

The history of Delta Chi at FSU has been a speckled one. We have overcome seemingly impossible goals in a surprisingly short period of time. We have accomplished our goals, one by one, with drive, zeal, and a motivation that knows no bounds. This would not have been possible without the sense of purpose found deep within each of our brothers. We will continue to work hard to keep making our fraternity great and focusing on our four core values.

We are constantly expanding and always searching for great men to join our brotherhood. If you or someone you know are interested in joining Delta Chi, please click here
